Post-Graduate & Teaching Courses
The UCHSc offer a full range of post-graduate certificates and diplomas which are accredited by the Society of Naturopathic and Naprapathic Doctors (SNND), and the British and International Association of Health and Aesthetics (B.I.A.H.A.).
Graduates can access FREE CPD courses through the UCHSc and have their results recorded automatically with the SNND and the B.I.A.H.A.
We are also planning to offer regulated qualifications in Teaching (Award in Education and Training Level 3). Assessing S/NVQ's Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement Level 3. Internal Quality Assurance = Certificate in Internal Quality Assurance Practice Level 4. These qualifications will allow the graduates to Teach. Assess Vocational Qualifications and Internally Quality Assure Assessors within registered centres for Government Regulated Qualifications. Post-Graduate Certificate in General MSK Ultrasonography
The content of this course is taught in the UCHSc undergraduate Naturopathy and Naprapathy courses. Teaching diagnostic ultrasonography for the most common musculoskeletal conditions.
This course is open to other health care professionals who feel they would benefit from learning this and integrating it into their clinical diagnostic practice.
Entry Requirements: Be a qualified and practising health care porfessional e.g. Doctor. Nurse. Physiotherapist. Osteopath. Chiropractor. Radiographer, etc. We also accept Naturopaths and other alternative medical practitioners, so long as they hold a registration with either the SNND or B.I.A.H.A.
Duration 1.5 years part-time = 3 years equivalent. 600 Hours.
Of which at least 200 are practical/clinical = 17 x 12-hour clinical rotations. (The UCHSc will provide all the clinical rotations if required. Candidates must attend the UCHSc for a minimum of 5 x 12-hour rotations; thereafter, they can source their own if they wish.)
Syllabus: Soft tissue injuries. Muscle strains. Tears. Haematomas. Contusions. Myofascial Injuries. Tendon Injuries. Calcification. Bursitis. Upper and Lower Limb. Ganglions. Cysts. Lipomas. Abscesses. Seromas.
Assessment: MCQs. Short Answer. Viva Voce. Clinical Presentations. Portfolio of Evidence. Clinical Log Book.
You can continue onto the Post-Graduate Diploma upon successful completion.
This course is mapped to Level 7 for 60 credits.
